George Bell | Player of the Match: I just tried to keep it steady for a while, so that we could capitalise at the back end. Horton played exceptionally well. It was very challenging (to play the Afghanistan spinners). When you know they play the Big Bash, you know they are very good. We targeted their seamers, we knew it would be tough against their spinners, so that was the plan. After that big over (from Sales), it was about staying calm. Skipper did a great job of keeping everyone calm.

They were struggling with the bat on 136/6 earlier in the day, before a splendid stand between Bell and Horton lifted them to 231. You thought it might've been a little too many for Afghanistan. But there was a spirited response, first from the pair of Allah Noor and Mohammad Ishaq, and then from Bilal Ahmad to get them back on track. They were even favourites with 23 needed off three overs. But Boyden and Rehan Ahmed were brilliant to close it out.
