Glenn Maxwell: It happened in little different flows - felt like they were well ahead, felt they were on track for about 350+, the last 15-odd overs we dragged it back really well. Got wickets at crucial times.. We are really proud of efforts in the back end. (On his bowling) There was a little bit of help out there, bigger boundaries as well, just tried to hit them to the longer boundary as much as possible. It's been enjoyable to have a bit more bowling role. (On QdK) Tired of seeing him make runs, feels like it happens a lot against us. He's a superstar and this is his second in a row in this World Cup. He's been dangerous for a long period of time. He's super consistent, nice to get him out. After the last couple of nights of training, the dew sort of came in. It played a lot better than I thought it would. Seem to skid on nicely, hopefully under lights, it skids on nicely.
Markram brought up fifty and it looked like South Africa were well on their way to a total in excess of 300. But Australia pulled things back beautifully, albeit momentarily, as both Cummins and Hazlewood bowled tight overs while also getting both Markram and Klaasen out. The wicket was quite literally a stick-wicket, with Australia reaping rewards for taking the pace off and banging it in short. However, they got very sloppy at the back end as a couple of catches went down. South Africa made the most of it and got past 300 and had it not been for an oustanding final over from Starc, it could've been more. It's a good score on this pitch, there's definitely help in it for the bowlers. There was both swing and seam movement upfront with the new ball and there was also grip and turn for the spinners. Won't be an easy chase for Australia but it promises to be an exciting 2nd half. We'll be back shortly.
17:50 Local Time, 12:20 GMT, 17:50 IST: What a topsy-turvy final 10 overs that was! Plenty of action but at the end of it all, South Africa have finished with a very respectable 311/7 after being slotted into bat.
