Melbourne Renegades have won the toss and have opted to field

6:15 pm local: The Renegades from Melbourne lost a close contest in their opening fixture against the Sydney Sixers, but they're at home now and will entertain perennial favourites, Perth Scorchers, in their only home fixture at the Simmonds Stadium in Geelong. The Scorchers are one of the most consistent teams going around the Big Bash circuit and they did manage to retain most of their core players during the drafts. They'll once again start as favourites going into the 2023-24 season. Bat flip and team news coming up shortly..
