18:20 Local Time, 07:20 GMT, 12:50 IST: Season 13 of BBL has reached its climax and there’s still one spot up for grabs. Three teams have already made it to the BBL finals – Brisbane Heat, Perth Scorchers, and Sydney Sixers. The battle for the final spot is still open. Either Adelaide Strikers or else Melbourne Stars will make the cut with the other three teams already out of contention. Jake Weatherald stole the headlines in his comeback game, scoring a blistering 32-ball 80. Weatherald’s whirlwind knock not only gave the Strikers their third win on the trot but also propelled their net run rate. The absence of Lynn (who is nursing a hamstring strain) didn’t hurt them in the previous game. The Strikers are shaping up nicely and are firing on all cylinders. A win for the Strikers will guarantee them a spot in the BBL finals. But, a loss in this match will keep the Melbourne Stars alive. Sydney Thunder, on the other hand, have pride to play for. They are low on confidence but tonight they can express themselves and play with freedom. Lack of consistency throughout has hurt them but they would be eager to end their campaign on a high. Can the Thunder upset the apple cart of the Strikers? Or will the Strikers emerge with flying colours once again? There’s a possibility of rain but let’s hope it stays away. Toss and team lineups will be announced shortly…
