Tom Hartley to Shubman Gill, 1 run, tossed up full on off-stump, Shubman Gill prods forward and drives it towards mid-off for a quick single
Just hearing on air that Kuldeep Yadav felt Ashwin might be able to return
As we gear up to the start of the Day 4, there's still no word on Ashwin but Yashasvi Jaiswal was seen warming up. In case you missed it, he walked off the field after suffering a suspected back-spasm but expect him to come back out and resume batting on the 104 he's already made.
Pitch report (Day 4):
9am local: Day 3 was one that turned this game on it's head after an inspired bowling performance from India saw them claim a massive 126-run lead before the batters, led by Jaiswal's century, piled on the misery on the tourists. With India now in a commanding position, they'll look to set England a target that'll seem out of reach even for Bazball-batting. What will that number be? We'll have to wait and see as we eagerly await Day 4.

Shubham: Hey cricbuzz, can Jaiswal come again tomorrow to bat? ---- Yes, he's retired hurt and not retired out.
Mohammed Siraj: (Translated from Hindi) We had only four bowlers and we had a responsibility. We knew they would attack so we spoke about sticking together and knowing that they would make a mistake. We didn’t plan anything much, we were waiting for them to make a mistake. I knew the yorker would be a good wicket-taking option. The important role for a bowler is to bowl six dot balls, we know they’re not used to playing out six dots in a row. Enjoyed with my family, then we had training. (On what he did during his break in the last match) I did my training and then I even watched the Test match at home, enjoyed watching Bumrah. (Thanks DK and says “see you in RCB" with a laugh).
India are in a great state at this stage and how many do they need before they declare? Still the pitch has played very well and England will be still gung-ho about chasing anything. We will be back nice and early tomorrow to bring you all the action. Till then take care and be well. Bye.
16:59 Local Time, 11:29 GMT, 16:59 IST: Bairstow has a friendly word with Kuldeep Yadav who smiles. Shubman Gill greets him with a smile too. What a day for India though. Who would have thought this would be the state of the game when you went back to last night when Ashwin had to go home due to a family medical emergency.
