Markram: Managed to get a nice series back at home. Can't control the rain, hope we get a good game in today. Don't want to blow up the competition (regards to the hype). It's a game of cricket. Bavuma has had to pop home, will be back shortly.
Williamson: Going to have a bat. I don't know (reason to bat), it's a warm-up game. Want to give the guys a bit of a hit. Recovery is going well. It's about playing good cricket throughout. These games are nice to get some preparation in. It's more about players getting what they need.

Pitch report | Dirk Nannes: This is a belter of a pitch. Might see a little bit of sideways nip. But largely, this is a great pitch. Going to see some big scores I expect. 70 meters straight, 73 on either side. Can feel the humidity. Will be hot, but it's going to be a run fest
Hello and welcome to our coverage of the warm-up fixture between New Zealand and South Africa. News is that Kane Williamson is going to lead New Zealand today. As for the weather, there's no rain at the moment in Thiruvananthapuram and let's hope it stays that way. Already a large part of the warm-up rounds have been marred because of rain. Weather permitting, we have a cracking contest on our hands between two of the much fancied teams in this tournament.
