Player of Match: Smriti Mandhana

Crucial win for RCB as they now join Mumbai and Delhi on 6 points. They outplayed their opponents in all three departments tonight and gave their home-crowd a lot to cheer about in their last game here this season. The bandwagon moves to Delhi and we'll be here to bring you all the action as the Delhi Capitals go up against the Mumbai Indians tomorrow. This is Anurag Hegde, Abhinand Raghavendran and Praveen Kumar signing off. Take care and goodbye.
Smriti Mandhana | RCB Captain & PoTM: We were under the pump after the last two games and we knew we had to get going today. Losing the toss didn’t help but there was a clear message to show intent straightaway. Everyone batted really well including Meghana at the top and then the bowlers came out and did their job. Definitely got a little lucky on 26 but I’ll take that because we really wanted this win. The practice was really good and playing domestic helped. It was good preparation, once you get the feel you just need to pick which area to target. Me and Perry were saying to each other that we’ve played together for 10 matches but this was the first 50-run stand. We are both experienced enough to recognize which bowler to target. There wasn’t much chat, it was just about executing. We never thought that we were out of the game, that’s how T20 cricket is. We were talking about how we would take wickets and come back. Different bowlers took pressure at different times and got the job done.
Ellyse Perry: All five games that we've played here have been amazing. Without a doubt the best atmosphere that I have consistently played in front of in my whole career. They've been phenomenal, the way they have come out, it's such a cool feeling to have that kind of support, we are so lucky. We have played a lot of cricket in the last couple of months. It's just the nature of the format, sometimes it clicks for you and on another night it doesn't. Great chance tonight to get myself in. At the other end, Smriti was hitting it as well as she could. My role was to support her then nice at the end to release a few balls. Good fun, great conditions here. We are really trying to pride ourselves with our fielding, it's a little bit tricky when there's a left-hand right-hand combination. We put in a great effort. It was really great from the girls tonight. Great to finish on a high in front of our fans. (On smashing the window of a display car) I was a bit worried, I am not sure if I have insurance here to cover that.
22:48 Local Time, 17:18 GMT, 22:48 IST: Clinical performance from RCB as they round out their home-leg with an important win. They batted brilliantly earlier to set UPW a massive 199-run target and they came out and defended it without many hiccups. To their credit, the Warriors were largely on track throughout their innings before losing their way in the last bit. The openers shared a 47-run stand but even as wickets fell at regular intervals thereafter, they somehow managed to stay on par with the asking rate. Unfortunately, the middle-order didn't fire and once Alyssa Healy fell for a well-made 55, it was down to Deepti Sharma and Poonam Khemnar. It was a fair effort on their part but they had too much to do to get their side over the line as RCB claimed a 23-run win. The RCB players go on a lap of the ground thanking their fans for their support.
