Player of Match: Pathum Nissanka

The players are out in the middle. Nice, gentle breeze blowing across the ground.
Najmul Hossain Shanto: We follow our process for the 100 overs. Important to start well but we are not worried about our top-order batsmen, hopefully they will do well. Looks a very good wicket, I think around 280-300 would be a good score. No changes for us.
Kusal Mendis: We will bowl first. First ten overs we bowled really well but after that dew came in and it was difficult to bowl. Nothing special, we played very good cricket in last game, we are looking to play basic cricket and I think we can manage well. One change – Theeskhana is not playing, Wellalage is playing.
Pitch Report | Russel Arnold: What we have here is similar to the pitch we played on in the last game. The grass is green and thick but there are cracks on the pitch. There might be some uneven bounce in the first innings and it might skid on in the second half.

Sri Lanka have won the toss and have opted to field
A determined run-chase from Bangladesh in the first ODI saw them through to a convincing victory. Dew played a pivotal role in the last game and made things much easier for the Bangladeshi batters. The strategy to bat first backfired on Sri Lanka but they would have learned their lesson. The toss is in nobody’s control though and if the dew tonight is as heavy as it was in the last game, things will certainly favour the chasing team. Some of the Sri Lankan batters got off to starts in the last game but didn’t convert them into something substantial. The likes of Nissanka and Mendis need to take up more responsibility. Meanwhile, Bangladesh put in an impressive all-round performance. Their pacers shared 9 wickets amongst themselves and the fielding was top-notch from the home side. Although the hosts were stuttering at 23/3, Shanto stood like a rock and with support from Mahmudullah and Mushfiqur, he guided his side to the finish line with consummate ease. Sri Lanka will be hungry to bounce back and it definitely promises to be an exciting contest. Stick around for the toss and team lineups...
