Pitch report:
Corey Anderson | Unicorns Captain: I think the wicket’s not going to change much. It’s about assessing it early, giving ourselves a platform and going from there. Couple of changes for us. Pat Cummins comes in
Heinrich Klaasen | Orcas Captain: We’ve got a great side. Not had the start we wanted but we’ll look to turn it around. We’ve got a few changes. Aaron Jones and someone else is in. Hopefully we can win and get up to that third spot.
Seattle Orcas have won the toss and have opted to field
14:20 Local Time, 18:20 GMT, 23:50 IST: Hello and welcome to our coverage of the 13th match of this year's Major League Cricket. The two teams in focus are the Seattle Orcas and San Francisco Unicorns. Both teams have got just one win on the board thus far with the Orcas suffering two losses in 3 games and the Unicorns enduring a loss and a washout in their 3 games. Chances of rain seem to be slim according to the forecasts so we should be looking forward to an exciting contest. Stick around, toss and playing XI updates coming shortly.
Preview
At the halfway point in this edition of Major League Cricket, both Seattle Orcas and San Francisco Unicorns find themselves languishing in the bottom half of the table and needing a string of wins to make a case for the playoffs.
The Orcas, placed last on the table, are particularly in dire need of a win. They were short of runs once again in their defeat to Washington Freedom and stand-in captain Heinrich Klaasen underlined how they fell short "in the backend with the bat" and how they lack a guy that keeps going on till the end. Their bowling, which has been their more impressive suit, will though be further amped up with the addition of Lungi Ngidi.
The Unicorns, on the other hand, would be itching for a victory themselves, given their last and only win this season came in their opening game. Since then, they have endured a loss and a washout and would really like to get going in this competition. They would be bolstered by the addition of Pat Cummins who's set to be available for this game.
When: Jul 15, 03:30 PM LOCAL, 1:00 AM IST (July 16)
Where: Church Street Park, Morrisville
What to expect: Chasing has been the winning formula at the venue which hasn't been easy to bat, and expect it to play similarly. There's some rain predicted during the match.
