Complete Chepauk Super Gillies won by 15 runs

That's the end of Match 8 of this season's TNPL. We'll be back tomorrow for the final match of the Salem leg with the hosts taking on the Panthers from Madurai. Do join us for all the action. For now, cheers and bye..
Vijay Shankar: I think we started well. Restricting them to 157 was good. We didn’t bat with enough positive intent. It’s difficult to tell where we are lacking, this game we could have shown better intent in the middle overs. Lots of positive signs for us though. S Ganesh came up the order and made use of the opportunity. When I bowled my last ball, there was a slight pull and I am playing with some painkillers. Need to go and get that checked.
22:49 Local Time, 17:19 GMT, 22:49 IST: A disappointing chase from the Tiruppur unit and they 'll look back at their poor batting. 158 wasn't a straightforward chase, but they never looked like they'd come even close to the target. The bowling was disciplined, but they were aided by some old-school cricket from all the batters except Ganesh. The right-hander, who came as an impact sub, fought hard and valiantly for his 35-ball 61, but he hardly got any support from the rest of his mates. They finished well below par and stay bottom with their second straight loss. A first win of the tournament for the Super Gillies and this should give them plenty of confidence.
