10:30 Local Time, 09:30 GMT, 15:00 IST: Hello and welcome to most certainly the final day of the Test. Ireland are 33 for 5. They are chasing 158. They were in tatters yesterday as Zimbabwe looked to close the game on day 3 itself before the rains arrived and delayed the inevitable. But Ireland bat deep. Most of their lower order batters can contribute and they would want to do that. Zimbabwe were indisciplined in the first innings and gave away freebies. But Ngarava has set the ball rolling with a four-fer. The first session on day 4 might well decide everything. Let's go!
At the moment going into day 4, it's Zimbabwe's Test to lose. Ireland though will rely on their longish tail to bail them out. We will be there to bring you all the action from day 4. Till then be well, take care and see you soon.
Chasing 158, Ireland have been rocked in just 8 overs as they lost half their side to an inspired Ngarava spell. First he bounced Moor out then followed it up with a wicket next ball of Campher. Muzarabani got Balbirnie next over and Ireland were reeling. Tector and Stirling too fell driving although the former was not happy with the decision. Replays show that the bat might have hit the ground. Zimbabwe were on fire and only the weather put a stop to their menace. They were well within striking distance of finishing the game off inside 3 days had bad light and rain not stopped play.
Day 3 is often called a moving day in a Test and it has been anything but a moving day. Zimbabwe started the day at 12/0 and lost both openers quickly. Ervine too did not last long and then came the significant stand between Myers and Williams which put Zimbabwe on their way. A loose shot from the left-hander saw his dismissal and then Myers got a grubber that shot low and trapped him right in front. A couple of needless shots from Madande and Muzarabani set Zimbabwe back seriously and despite Chivanga battling a blow to the head - he went off and came back after the fall of the 9th wicket - Zimbabwe were bowled out with a lead of just 157. Ireland would have been happy at that time but they dropped a number of chances including Myers who was the top-scorer with 57. Had they taken those chances, Zimbabwe would have been limited to lesser than what they set Ireland eventually.
18:22 Local Time, 17:22 GMT, 22:52 IST: It's stumps. Play has been abandoned for the day due to bad light and weather. The covers are still on and it's very dark out there.
18:10 Local Time, 17:10 GMT, 22:40 IST: The umpires are out inspecting. Rain has stopped.
17:50 Local Time, 16:50 GMT, 22:20 IST: It has started to rain and they are off. Zimbabwe would be gutted. They had the momentum on their side but have to walk off. The rain is getting heavier. Time is running out as well.
