So, that's it from our side. It was a proper run-fest as more than 400 runs were scored in tonight's game. Join us day after tomorrow for some more fast-paced action from the CPL. Until next time, goodbye and cheers!
Faf du Plessis: The break did us well and there was a lot of momentum from there. (On how the rain break helped them get momentum) In the context of the game, you are looking to get 20 runs off the last 7 balls but they only got 3 runs. So, that was huge for us. To get 200 from 20/4, that will give huge confidence to our middle-order. When you come down to the Caribbean, you feel like the challenge is in the middle overs, we have always relied on the top-order being successful. (On the duo of Rajapaksa and Seifert) The way those both guys played in the middle overs was brilliant, they took Shamsi down. We will take a lot of confidence from that.
Andre Fletcher: It’s down to execution, as a fielding unit, we are not helping ourselves. If we keep dropping catches, we can’t win matches. We have to buck up on our fielding and our execution in bowling too. Kyle bowled the first three, then the plan was to bring Shamsi who was our wicket-taking option, even Nedd, I think he didn’t get his length right, he was put under pressure by Rajapaksa.
Kyle Mayers | Player of the Match: It was a good day for me, but the team didn’t cross the line so it’s sad. We played good cricket, obviously the rain helped them a lot. A new beginning, a new team and I’m enjoying my time. Me and Evin tried to assess the game, tried to assess which bowlers to target. We knew if we stay out there, we will score runs. (On taking du Plessis' catch) It was a good catch, I really wanted it, he is a good player. I gave my best effort and it came off.
