Ben Stokes: (On Graham Thrope passing away) Very sad day when I heard the news. He was my first coach and spend a lot of time with him. Got to know him as a person, great as a man, wonderful memories and he was a gem of a man. He is going to be missed by a lot of people. Really excited to get back into the comp and playing for the Northern Superchargers. We have put in some very good performances and Brooky has led them really well. I think he has gone strength to strength as a player and we might seem going to a new level. I only turned yesterday afternoon in training, Brooky said to me to go for the sixes and get a wicket. I’m most pleased from the captain point of view, when we were put under pressure we managed to come back. It’s just been a really good natural progession and they guy learnt to do what to do under pressure. As a captain and as a team, it has been great. Dan has been in the team for the last two years as a spare batter. When he is fit, he comes back into the team. We have always felt he is someone who can fill in. (On their series against Sri Lanka) Great to see Stones being back into the side.
