Hasan Mahmud to Justin Greaves, no run, appeal for a caught behind, turned down!
The players are out in the middle and we are ready to roll. The two unbeaten West Indian batters are at the crease as Bangladesh will start Day 2 with pace. Hasan Mahmud to bowl the first over of the day. A couple of slips and gully in place. Here we go!
Alick Athanaze: I am naturally aggressive. I play how I want to play. After tea, I assessed the conditions better and made it easier for myself. I could play my natural game because of him (Mikyle Louis). Normally I like to get to my milestones quickly once I get close to them (but couldn't do it.) It's just about forgetting about yesterday and doing well today.
Pitch report: Yesterday the final session was the most productive as 134 runs were scored by the West Indian batters. The pitch was seamer friendly. They (pacers) put an element of doubt in the batters, it can be similar today. You can see a few balls marks on the pitch around the good length area. There will be seam movement as there's some moisture in it, reckons Curtly Ambrose.
09:30 Local Time, 13:30 GMT, 19:00 IST: Hello and welcome to our live coverage of Day 2 of the first Test between West Indies and Bangladesh folks! Bangladesh won the toss yesterday and elected to bowl first on a wicket that assisted pacers early on. Taskin Ahmed was impressive after the drinks break of the morning session as he dismissed Kraigg Brathwaite and Keacy Carty in quick succession. Kavem Hodge got off to a good start, played a gritty little knock, however, the middle-order batsman was unfortunately run-out in the post-lunch session. But what followed next, was an excellent partnership between Mikyle Louis and Alick Athanaze. They fought well and played fine knocks, however, both of them were dismissed in their 90s by the Bangladesh spinners in the final session. With 5 wickets remaining, the West Indies will be aiming for the 300-run mark and take things forward from there on. Let’s hope we have an even more interesting Day 2. Start of play is not far away..
17:18 Local Time, 21:18 GMT, 02:48 IST: And bad light has meant we will be going off. And it is stumps on day 1. There is a little drizzle in the background as well.
