Brathwaite: I want to be an example for guys to follow. In a world with T10 and T20 - which is amazing - Test cricket is life.
Mehidy: Going to bat first. Wicket looks good. Two changes: Shadman is playing, and Nahid comes in for Shoriful. Last match was tough. Top order needs to get going.
Bangladesh have won the toss and have opted to bat
Just moments away from the toss at Sabina Park...
14:05 Local Time, 19:05 GMT, 00:35 IST: Good news, folks!
13:46 Local Time, 18:46 GMT, 00:16 IST: Ian Bishop on air mentions that the problematics areas are getting a lot better due to the constant sunshine today and things are looking promising. Live visuals reveal a lot of activity happening on the outfield as the groundsmen are seen brooming a particular area.
Pritam Soni: Weather disruptions are frustrating, but credit to the ground staff for their hard work. Taskin's resurgence and West Indies' pace attack promise a thrilling contest if play resumes. Let's hope for some action soon
13:05 Local Time, 18:05 GMT, 23:35 IST: There are two areas of concern which are the adjoining strips on either side of the main pitch. They have put a lot of sand on the wet areas and the ground staff is hoping that it will absorb the moisture. It's very hot out here. The breaking news is that the umpires have announced that there will be another inspection at 2pm.
12:05 Local Time, 17:05 GMT, 22:35 IST: The sun continues to shine brightly in Kingston but unfortunately, the heavy amount of rain over the past week has taken its toll on the outfield. The next inspection is almost an hour away.
Okay, so the official word is that the next inspection will be at 1pm.
11.15am local: The 11am inspection time has come and gone. We're still waiting for an update.
Pitch and Conditions report | Samuel Badree: Some good news and some not so good news. The surface is nice and firm - even covering of grass. No issues there. The bad news though - when I look across, this area (on the square) looks waterlogged. As I put my foot in there, you can see water coming up. Umpires have deemed this area unsuitable for play. 11am inspection. The sun is shining in all its glory and the groundstaff are working assiduously.
We are hearing that the toss could be delayed at Sabina Park
Bangladesh didn't have too many positives to take from that 201-run hammering in the opening Test. However, the continued upsurge of Taskin Ahmed must be very pleasing for them. After a rocky start to his career that was plagued with injuries and needed a lot of work with his bowling action, Taskin has been having a really good time at the top level in the last couple of years. He even picked up his very first five-for in the previous Test as he led the fightback for the visitors in the third innings.
Roach's comments came after West Indies' crushing win over Bangladesh in Antigua where the four-man pace attack of the hosts was too hot to handle for the opposition. Five, if you add allrounder Justin Greaves. In Alzarri Joseph, Shamar Joseph, Jayden Seales, Greaves, and the veteran Roach himself, West Indies now have an attack that has a lot of potential in terms of both pace and skill, and Roach has called for even more help from the surfaces. Let's see what Jamaica has to offer today.
9am local: Hello and welcome to our coverage of the second and final Test of the series between West Indies and Bangladesh. The teams are at Sabina Park in Jamaica - a venue that used to boast of some of the fastest pitches in the world. But that era is long gone, and although the pitches in the Caribbean have been quite lively in the last few years, Kemar Roach still reckons that there is a "pitch crisis" that the hosts need to address.
