Welcome back for the post-lunch session.
13:03 Local Time, 00:03 GMT, 05:33 IST: Quite an eventful and entertaining morning session that was! New Zealand won the toss and dominated the first hour by picking up four wickets, but Brook and Pope counterattacked following the drinks break. Henry removed both the England openers, while Nathan Smith got rid of Root and Bethell as they troubled the England batters with the new ball. Just when New Zealand had things under control, Brook broke the shackles by punishing the New Zealand pacers. Pope gave him proper support from the other end as the two middle-order batters steadied the ship and avoided any further damage. They also brought up the 50-run partnership quickly with their aggressive approach by dealing in boudaries. The ball is still moving around a bit, so it would be interesting to how New Zealand bowl in the post-lunch session as they will be refreshed. The piitches in New Zealand tend to flatten out as the game progresses, so the batters will have a good time going forward. Stokes and Woakes are yet to bat, hence England do have a chance to post a formidable first innings score. Back in 40 minutes for the post-lunch session, do join us.
