New Zealand Women have won the toss and have opted to bat
Sure New Zealand will have at least one forced change. Has Harmanpreet regained fitness to take the field today? We'll get to know that and more shortly...
Amelia Kerr's injury was a big blow to New Zealand as the star all-rounder, after bagging a 4-fer, had to bat low down the order due to grade-one quadricep tear that has now sidelined her for about three weeks. The visitors sent Lauren Down at No. 3 because of this but the batting didn't quite stick together in the chase despite starts for a few.
Both sides experimented in the last game and India recorded a convincing win batting first. India's two debutants Tejal Hasabnis and Saima Thakor got their international careers off to a good start. While Saima impressed with the ball taking two wickets. Tejal shouldered a lot of responsibility in what was an inexperienced middle-order in the absence of Harmanpreet Kaur and got India to a fighting score that eventually turned out to be more than enough. In fact she was the highest run-getter of the side.
