The forecast is good for the rest of the day. 63m and 66m square boundaries, 66m straight boundary, the pockets are longer. The breeze does play a role, as a bowler you need to make sure that the batters keep hitting it to the longer pockets. Looks a belter, it's a lot whiter in colour, there is some grass, but it's well rolled and it's not going to be batting friendly, reckon Frankie McKay and Craig McMillan, in their pitch report
Martin Guptill, who recently announced his international retirement - Just the right decision to make, but I have had a great time. I love this ground and my family live in this city. Sport is always about ups and downs. I was lucky enough to have some good days, not just here, but all around the world. I will look back proud over the many enjoyable memories. 19 years ago, I played my first game for Auckland, yesterday I was back to reminiscent of the past. I've had a great association with Auckland and I'm loving to be back. Back-to-back WC finals, we played a two-day one-day SF against India, you look back at that and remember playing a final at Lord's. Family has been massive, Laura (his wife) has been so good at what she does, has been a massive pillar of support for me.
Teams:
Sri Lanka (Playing XI): Pathum Nissanka, Avishka Fernando, Kusal Mendis(w), Kamindu Mendis, Charith Asalanka(c), Janith Liyanage, Chamindu Wickramasinghe, Wanindu Hasaranga, Maheesh Theekshana, Eshan Malinga, Asitha Fernando
New Zealand (Playing XI): Will Young, Rachin Ravindra, Mark Chapman, Daryl Mitchell, Tom Latham(w), Glenn Phillips, Michael Bracewell, Mitchell Santner(c), Nathan Smith, Matt Henry, William ORourke
Mitchell Santner - Looks like a good wicket, biot more bounce and we'll look to extract it. The straight boundaries are short and teams coming over here always look to exploit it. Just one change - Micheal Bracewell replaces Jacob Duffy. Another chance for us to play well in front of a big crowd.
Charith Asalanka - We will bat first, looks like a good batting surface. We have played a fair bit here, the wicket has a bit more bounce. The discussion was all about winning the game and managing the process. No changes for us.

13:05 Local Time, 00:05 GMT, 05:35 IST: New Zealand have sealed the series with facile wins in Wellington and Hamilton, but the third and final match of the tour gives Sri Lanka an opportunity to end their travel on a high. Batting has been a let down for the visitors in this series - they were reduced to 23 for 4 in the 1st game while they fell to 22 for 4 in the second. Such slip-ups make it all but impossible to recover and that was exactly the case for Charith Asalanka's men. Avishka Fernando went past 50 in the first game and Kamindu Mendis did the same in the second, but they'll need a better all-round effort if they're to sting the hosts. The small boundary dimensions in the Eden Park could probably suit their style of play, but they're up against a team high on confidence. The home pacers might be inexperienced, but they have delivered so far in the series and they'll look to sign off in style. With the squad for the Champions Trophy set to be announced over the weekend, there is plenty to play for both sets of players. Toss and team updates coming up shortly..
