Mid-innings Pitch Report | Ian Bishop: "It's a lot cooler now than when the game started. I am looking at the foot-marks, the pitch is actually held together nicely. You can see where the bowler has followed through here, it's not significant, there's no great advantage for the ball to grip out of these foot-marks. The middle of the pitch is good. Little bit of help for the spinners. It has gotten cooler, I don't know if dew will form. We saw in the powerplay, India's bowlers getting the ball to swing, they didn't control very well. But in that powerplay, 1.3 degrees of swing and Pakistan will be hoping that continues."
Saud Shakeel: I could have easily taken some more time there, it was not a good time to get out. Earlier, the ball wasn't coming onto the bat that nicely. Little bit of swing as well. As the spinners came, we made some runs there. The pitch was slightly on the slower side. We have to put up a fight there. If we take early wickets, we can put pressure on them. We have to strike early.
16:52 Local Time, 12:52 GMT, 18:22 IST: An impressive bowling performance by India as they have restricted Pakistan to a ordinary total in Dubai. Babar Azam played a few good-looking shots earlier in the day, however, he wasn't able to carry on and convert his start into a formidable total. Rizwan and Shakeel added some crucial runs following that, but the run rate wasn't great when the two batters were out there in the middle. Their wickets triggered a mini batting collapse as the Indian spinners kept taking wickets at regular intervals and kept a lid on the scoring rate. Kuldeep with three wickets was the pick of the bowlers for India, while Khushdil added some pivotal runs towards the end and helped Pakistan get over the 240-run mark. The pitch isn't that easy to bat on, it's quite sluggish, hence it will be interesting to see how the Indian batters go about in the run chase..
