The New Zealand players are in a team huddle. Four debutants in the South African XI and their inexperienced batting line-up will be tested. Early start and there could be some assistance for the Kiwi pacers.
The players are out for the national anthems. South Africa's first, followed by New Zealand's.
Wiaan Mulder: We are trying to use this as much as a prep as we can ahead of the Champions Trophy. Lot of the guys who played in the SA20 final will be here quite soon. A lot of us are trying to get ready and use this as an opportunity to put in a good performance. We are really excited. Whenever there's a new player, it's really exciting. A lot of good nerves going into today's game. A lot of people want to prove a point. We are here to play a cricket match. Even though they had a good game against Pakistan, it doesn't mean we can't beat them. As a team, we are really excited. The morale in the dressing room is really positive.
Pitch Report | Bazid Khan and Aamer Sohail: Because of the grass and given the weather conditions, there'll be something for the fast bowlers. After that, batters can express themselves. Get through the initial phase and there's plenty of runs on offer.

08:30 Local Time, 03:30 GMT, 09:00 IST: Hello everyone and warm welcome to the second match of this tri-series. New Zealand registered a comfortable win in the first match against the hosts - Pakistan. The win was set up by their batters - Glenn Phillips raised a superb century after fifties from Williamson and Michell. GP also picked up a crucial wicket while Santner and Henry scalped three wickets apiece. They'll be forced to make a change as Rachin Ravindra suffered a blow on his forehead in the previous match. South Africa, on the other hand, won't be fielding a full-strength side as the SA20 competition ended only a couple of days ago. As many as six uncapped players are in the squad and some of the experienced players will be joining them for the next game. It's a chance for these teams to get accustomed to these conditions ahead of the Champions Trophy. NZ come into this match as favourites. Let's find out how things pan out.
