Deepti Sharma - We would have bowled first as well. Need to get a good total which we can defend

Meg Lanning - We will bowl first.
Delhi Capitals Women have won the toss and have opted to field
The pitch has settled now, we might not see totals in excess of 200, but it's firm and very hard. Both batters and bowlers need to assess the conditions and the batting team has to keep a total in mind. Not many cracks and should be a decent surface, reckon Deep Dasgupta and Stacey Ann-King, in their pitch report.
18:30 Local Time, 13:00 GMT, 18:30 IST: It's Match 6 of this season's WPL and it pits the Delhi Capitals against the UP Warriorz in what will be Vadodara's final game of the season. The Capitals started their campaign with a win under controversial circumstances against the Mumbai Indians, but the euphoria was completely brought down as they were swept aside by defending champions, Royal Challengers Bengaluru. On the other hand, the Warriorz started their tournament with a loss to the Gujarat Giants. As such, both teams need to get back to winning ways with the tournament still in its infancy. Toss and team sheets coming up shortly..
Preview
Both the Delhi Capitals and UP Warriorz have had indifferent starts to season three of the Women's Premier League. In their most recent outings, the Warriorz were comfortably beaten by the Gujarat Giants in their season opener while the Capitals were demolished by defending champions RCB on Monday (February 17). However, the Capitals walk into the Wednesday clash with the upper hand given their 3-1 hehad-to-head record but it was the Warriorz who prevailed in a low-scoring thriller in Delhi in their last meeting.
There is a similarity between the two sides in the early stages of the tournament - the lack of runs the middle-order have produced with the bat. Barring skipper Deepti Sharma who scored 39, Warriorz's star Australian allrounders - Tahlia McGrath and Grace Harris - scored only four runs between them while Shweta Sehrawat added 16. But a case can also be made that it was only the first game for the Warriorz.
The Capitals, on the other hand, stumbled from 60/1 to 109/5 against MI and also collapsed against RCB in their second game. This time on a bigger scale as they lost their last nine wickets from 60/1 to being bowled out for 141. Skipper Meg Lanning and Shafali Varma, who have scored the most number of runs in partnership across the history of the tournament, would hope the middle-order comes to the party to reduce the pressure on their shoulders.
The bowling attack of either team might not be tinkered with despite the Capitals struggling in their last outing. With both teams having failed to optimally utilise the death overs with bat in hand, the onus will be on the respective middle-orders to finish their Vadodara leg in style.
When: Wednesday, February 19 at 7:30 PM IST
Where: Kotambi Stadium, Vadodara
What to expect: Another good pitch with plenty of runs. Dew has been an omnipresent factor in the WPL so far in the Vadodara leg, and both teams would look to insert the opposition into bat.
