Grace Harris and Kiran Navgire are at the crease. Grace Harris is on strike. Dottin will open the attack
Welcome back. A big chase this. Grace Harris will continue to open. She has Navgire alongside her. Both aggressive batters. They need to get off to a big start. Dottin with a wide slip to start.
Deol: Very pleased. Happy I could score runs for the team. WHen Moons was playing, she was just telling me how the wicket was playing and where they were bowling. When you're communicating, you get more clarity. The way I bat, for me it's easier to play at number three. But when you're playing for a franchise, you need to explore. On this wicket, even though you're playing T20, cricketing shots are effective. We have a good total but 10-15 more runs could've been added. We have a good bowling attack.
Harleen Deol: When you contribute to the team it always is nice. When Moons was playing, she was telling me how the wicket was playing, when I was playing I was doing the same. She is very specific in terms of running her runs and she was telling you need to run hard mate. (if she likes batting at 3) Definitely. The way I bat, it is more easier to bat at that number. When you play for a franchise you need to be adaptive. The coach wanted to explore and me too, so that's how I am at 3. On these wickets even though you are playing T20 cricket, you play more cricketing shots and I was playing straighter and the ball was coming on nicely. We have got a good total, 10-15 runs could have been good, but we have got a good bowling attack and we will take what is there
20:59 Local Time, 15:29 GMT, 20:59 IST: Mooney was so close to becoming the first player to score a hundred in the WPL. It wasn't to be but she has powered the Gujarat Giants to a healthy total. On a good pitch to bat on, she took a bit of time to find her touch after a few low scores in the previous matches, before coming into her own.
Shashikant Singh lists the highest individual scores in the WPL 99 (36). - 186/5 runs is the second highest 1st innings team total this WPL season after GG's 201/5 runs against RCB in the opening match.
