09:45 Local Time, 08:45 GMT, 14:15 IST: Hello and welcome to the first ODI between Ireland and West Indies. It has been a while since these two teams played this format; West Indies last played in December 2024 while Ireland toured Zimbabwe in February this year for an all-format series. The 3-match series is very important for both teams as they push for an automatic qualification to the 2027 World Cup which will be held in South Africa and Zimbabwe. West Indies are currently placed ninth in the ODI rankings due to their wins over England and Bangladesh respectively in the previous two series. Their aim would be to keep that winning run going even though they are missing some players due to the IPL. Ireland are placed 12th and lost their previous series to Zimbabwe. They are missing some key players like Mark Adair, Curtis Campher and Craig Young due to injury. But it gives them a chance to test out some of the young and inexperienced players especially in the pace bowling department. They won the series last time these two teams met and would hope for a similar result. Toss and teams coming up..
