Australia take a 2-0 lead in the series. It has not been comprehensive as they have been under pressure at times but they have managed to respond and found players to get them out of situations, something that the West Indies have not been able to do. The bowlers have still done well, restricting Australia to under 300 in three out of the four innings, but have been let down by their batting unit. They have one last chance in Jamaica to make things right and salvage something out of this series. But it is not going to be easy as it is a day-night Test and some of the West Indian players haven't played one. Do join us for that Third Test. Until next time, goodbye and stay safe..
Pat Cummins: It was a tight couple of Test matches but we have found a way to win. The new ball has been tricky for both teams, weathering that early spell and being clear in your ideas. The pitch deteriorated a little bit and it got simpler for our bowlers. Much of the same, keep the same standards, there are WTC points on offer, we have about a week off and it is well deserved. He (Carey) was great last week as well. He has walked into tricky situations but has managed to build partnerships and give us totals that can be defended.
Roston Chase: I think it was the case where we didn't get partnerships. The new ball was challenging and we lost too many wickets up front. If we could have not lost so many wickets in the first 10-15 overs then it could have been different. 275 was always going to be challenging, but you have to believe in your skills. Stay confident, believe in your abilities and the top three batters staying a little longer (message for the third Test). Those guys (fast bowlers) are really hungry, they are always eager to bowl and makes it tough for me as captain to get the ball out of their hand.
Alex Carey | Player of the Match - I think going out with a good intent, the wickets hasn't been easy to bat, (on the positive batting from him) Webster and Head go out with positive intent, put pressure and keep the scoreboard ticking, that has worked (well for us). It has been fun playing on such surfaces, it hasn't been easy but we have had a method to adapt, in Barbados we were behind (after the 1st innings) and then came back in an attacking position. Here, we thought the wicket would deteriorate and so winning the toss was crucial. Contributing and helping Australia win the series has been fantastic, two years back, they came over to our shores and we couldn't win that series, so to come over here and win is fantastic.
Early on, Australia were rescued in the first innings by a couple of 60s from Webster and Carey. West Indies riding on King's 75 and lower order contributions got close to Australia's 286, giving them only a 33-run lead. Seales sent back the openers cheaply in the second essay and at that point the hosts were still in the contest, but fifties from Green and Smith put Australia in front as they were bowled out today for 243. West Indies were never in the chase as they were reduced to 33/4 by lunch and the rest was wrapped up in the second session. Hang around for the presentations..
