We have made a few changes to our Expert XI. Refer to our Fantasy Handbook before locking in your teams...
RCB's Impact player in the second innings will probably be Padikkal and he will open alongside Kohli.
Josh Hazlewood: Well we came up against Delhi not too long ago. Kind of fresh in the memory. Obviously an away game for us but we feel more comfortable away from home at the moment. Our plans would be similar to what they have been. We will see how we will take it tonight. I think with our bowling attack, we have every base covered to a degree. All our three quicks are very different bowlers. And obviously we have got two world class spinners as well. I feel the spinners particularly in the last few games have pulled us back into the game after a sluggish powerplay in terms of our bowling. I expect no different tonight. If they get off to a flier, we can bring KP and Suyyash in and they will do the job more often than not. Pretty well rounded attack. It is always strange to come up against mates that you have played with for 12-15 years. Hopefully, I never face him. I never do that in the nets.
Here are the Impact substitutes for both the teams:
Delhi Capitals Impact Subs: Ashutosh Sharma, Mohit Sharma, Jake Fraser McGurk, Madhav Tiwari, Tripurana Vijay
Royal Challengers Bengaluru Impact Subs: Devdutt Padikkal, Liam Livingstone, Rasikh Dar Salam, Manoj Bhandage, Swapnil Singh
So, both captains have read the wicket differently. Rajat Patidar mentioned at the toss that he feels that it's a good wicket and it won't change much. But, Axar Patel was happy that side would be batting first
Teams:
Delhi Capitals (Playing XI): Faf du Plessis, Abishek Porel, Karun Nair, KL Rahul(w), Axar Patel(c), Tristan Stubbs, Vipraj Nigam, Mitchell Starc, Dushmantha Chameera, Kuldeep Yadav, Mukesh Kumar
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (Playing XI): Virat Kohli, Jacob Bethell, Rajat Patidar(c), Jitesh Sharma(w), Tim David, Krunal Pandya, Romario Shepherd, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Suyash Sharma, Josh Hazlewood, Yash Dayal
Axar Patel: That is an advantage too but if we had won the toss, I think we would have batted only and use the wicket in the second innings. In the last game, there was no dew but in the game against Mumbai, there was some dew.
Rajat Patidar: We will bowl first.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru have won the toss and have opted to field
Tristan Stubbs: We need to take it game by game, when we won our last game, it was important to get on a winning streak and get the momentum going. Faf is back today so that’s good. We haven’t really put that nail the coffin in the middle, so hopefully put up a complete batting performance today. I enjoy batting at the backend, just want to enjoy myself and hopefully we can put a good show. (On today's surface being dry) Thank goodness, we have three world-class spinners.
"We're right at home," said Malolan Rangarajan, RCB's spin bowling coach, when asked about the ground dimensions yesterday.
It is 66mtrs to end of the boundary and 58mtrs to another end. Down the ground it is 71mtrs. When you come to Delhi, sometimes you get a high scoring belter. But today it is a very very dry surface. Not a lot of live grass on the deck. There was 4.1 degrees of turn in the game versus Mumbai. Not much help for the pacers. -- Graeme Swann and Aaron Finch at the pitch report.
DK was helping Jacob Bethell practise some pull shots and is now having a long conversation with him.
A loud cheer for Kohli as he walks out onto the ground and he acknowledges it by raising his hand and giving a wave.
Last evening, the Delhi Capitals had organised an event, getting the DC academy kids to watch the team train. And the kids were constantly chatting "RCB, RCB", Gokul further adds...
Old "friends" KP and Flower having a chat next to the main wicket. Karnataka boys KL Rahul and Devdutt Padikkal meet up and have a quick laugh about something...
