The players are out in the middle and we are ready for live action. The two MI openers are ready to roll against the GT pacers. Here we go!
Washington Sundar:One thing you can always expect from GT is that we prepare really well so anytime and every time we are put into situations where certain things are demanded out of us especially the lower order. We have done it in the past, the great thing is that our top three is getting the job done every game so that’s a huge plus for us and I hope, it’s the same tonight as well. (On whether batting at No. 4 is his preferred position) Definitely yes, getting a lot more balls to play is a blessing and I can definitely expect a lot more from myself this season. I have been preparing well as well, it’s about understanding the situation and executing what I really need to in those situations. (On there being 6-7 bowling options in the team) The IPL format is quite different in the last few years, with the Impact player rule coming into the picture, it’s very exciting. You never know when you are going to be called but whenever you will be called, it’s going to be a very different situation for the team and if you can pull things for the team, then you are doing a great job. The way Ashish Nehra has setup the atmosphere right from the start of the season, we don’t think too far ahead. We genuinely live by the culture and try to get better every game. We have done really well so far this season and we would look to continue doing that.
Here are the Impact substitutes for both the teams:
Gujarat Titans Impact Subs: Washington Sundar, Mahipal Lomror, Anuj Rawat, Dasun Shanaka, Sherfane Rutherford
Mumbai Indians Impact Subs: Karn Sharma, Raj Bawa, Robin Minz, Reece Topley, Ashwani Kumar

Gujarat Titans (Playing XI): Sai Sudharsan, Shubman Gill(c), Jos Buttler(w), Rahul Tewatia, Shahrukh Khan, Rashid Khan, Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore, Arshad Khan, Gerald Coetzee, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna

Hardik Pandya: We don't mind batting. There's a lot of breeze. Will be fine to bowl second in such conditions as well. For us it's important to execute our plans. In IPL, anyone can come in and change a game.
Shubman Gill: We will bowl first. I dont think the wicket will change much, got to have a total on the board and then chase it.
Gujarat Titans have won the toss and have opted to field
Right then, it's toss time..

Trent Boult: Always a learning curve, was always expecting to bowl at different times. The tournament has been exciting, the team has been travelling well, it is a huge game tonight at home and I'm looking forward to it. Maybe a bit more reverse (swing), less conventional, the wickets have been pretty solid, the guys have adopted plans, we've to be on our game tonight, it's a high scoring ground and reverse swing could come into play. The top-order has been doing a tremendous job for them (on Gujarat Titans), they've played some good cricket and have good bowlers. That's why they're high on the table, we'll have to play some good cricket to beat them. In T20 cricket, momentum plays a big role, we're not looking too far ahead, looking forward to a good game tonight and taking it one game at a time.
