So, that's us from this game. The Asia Cup champions, Sri Lanka, are now in a precarious position after losing badly to Pakistan and Australia. The defending champions will be pleased with their overall performance but a few of their bowlers were a bit off-colour and they would want to tighten things up. Don't go away as England will square off against Bangladesh in about 40 minutes. Switch tabs to catch all the action. Until next time, goodbye and cheers!
Alyssa Healy | Australia captain: Yeah, we are off to a good start and I’m happy with that. We were decent without being perfect, we adjusted well to the conditions with the ball. The wickets are a little bit low and slow and we will see how it’s in the next game against Pakistan. We watched a few games earlier here and it came handy for us. (On Wareham at no. 3) We will try a few different things throughout the tournament. We have a few players in our batting lineup to break the game open.
Chamari Athapaththu | Sri Lanka captain: We were playing good cricket in the last two months, even in the warmups. We have unfortunately lost two games. We are struggling on these tracks with low turn and bounce. Our batting is dependent on the top three-four batters. Our first four batters struggled and that cost us. I hope we will improve in our next game and our girls will perform well in Dubai. Dubai is better for batting so I hope we will perform better there.
Schutt, POTM: There was a bit more bounce in the wicket than I thought there was going to be early on. I've been pushing Midge (captain Healy) for three overs in the powerplay for a long time. So it was nice to do that. We probably could've been cleaner to be honest. But it's quite a slow outfield so needs some adjustment. Decent wicket. Got a little bit lower and slower towards the end. But the outfield is pretty immaculate, little bit slow so we have to run them out there. In the heat it was tough. I think Moons lost about 16 kilos out there. I think we've finally acclimatised because I didn't feel like I would die today. We've played in hot conditions before. It is what it is, got to suck up and get on with it. The breeze made it easier today. We survived this one. Nice to actually take some poles out there today.
