Biography

Lhuan-dré Pretorius is an aggressive wicketkeeper-batter from South Africa, known for his clean ball-striking and fearless approach at the top of the order. He is considered one of the bright young prospects to emerge from South Africa’s junior cricket setup.
Born in Pretoria, Pretorius rose through the Northerns age-group system and earned selection for the South Africa U19 squad for the 2024 ICC U19 World Cup. He made a strong impression in the tournament, ending as the leading run getter for South Africa as they made it to the semi-finals. Throughout the tournament, he stood out for his ability to take on bowlers early and shift momentum quickly.
Following the U19 World Cup, Pretorius continued to represent South Africa at the junior level and earned a contract with the Paarl Royals in the SA20 League. He had a superb first season in the SA20, playing some fearless and eye-catching cricket that made the whole world take notice. Lhuan-dre was the leading run scorer of the 2025 SA20 League with 397 runs, at an average of 33.08. The attacking left hander was picked by Rajasthan Royals as the replacement player for an injured Nitish Rana in IPL 2025, but is yet to make his debut.
