Biography
Vaibhav Suryavanshi made headlines when he became the youngest player to get an IPL contract at the age of just 13. He was signed by Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2025 auction, less than two months after scoring a hundred for India U19 against Australia U19 in a four-day game in Chennai.
The left-handed batter from Bihar made his first-class debut in January 2024, becoming the second youngest player to feature in the Ranji Trophy. He didn't get off to a great start in that tournament, but showed promise in youth cricket later that year with that hundred against Australia U19, and a couple of fifties in the U19 Asia Cup in the UAE. He also impressed the Rajasthan Royals management during the trials in Nagpur, and they ended up signing him for INR 1.1 crore, outbidding Delhi Capitals at the auction table.
