Biography
A free-stroking batsman, Ali Brown was a prolific run-scorer in English county cricket. He has hit over 16000 first-class runs to go with 11257 List-A runs, including the world record List-A score of 268. Brown also holds the distinction of being the only player to claim two double hundreds in List-A cricket.
Brown though failed to translate his domestic success onto the biggest stage. He featured in 16 ODIs managing only 354 runs at an ordinary average of 22.12.
As his county career progressed, he was more typecast as an ODI specialist because of his attacking batsmanship. Brown was also known as a good slip fielder.
