Biography
Born is Kolkata, Abhishek Jhunjhunwala made his first-class debut against Gujarat during the 2005-06 season. Technically sound, Jhunjhunwala was considered as one to watch out for, but because he chose to play the rebel Indian Cricket League, he was ignored for competitive cricket for a while as the BCCI enforced a ban on the players involved in ICL before lifting it.
In fact, he had to miss two full Ranji Trophy seasons and made a return during the 2009-10 season. However, he was a regular member of the playing XI and eventually, after playing five matches in the 2012-13 season, he quit all forms of cricket.
He made his IPL debut with Rajasthan Royals in 2010 and played almost every match of the season. He then moved to Pune Warriros for the 2011 edition of the IPL, before jumping to Deccan Chargers in 2012.
