Biography
Craig Young is a right-arm medium-pacer from Ireland, best known for his fantastic figures of 5 for 22 in the European Under-19 Championships against Guernsey in 2009. His eye-catching domestic performances earned him a first-Class debut for Ireland against Scotland in September 2013.
Again Young is someone who has represented Ireland in the under-19 World Cup in 2010 and was inarguably their best bowler as he scalped 9 wickets from 5 games.
After a brief stint with Sussex that was peppered with injury scares, Young was awarded a Cricket Ireland contract in 2014. On his ODI debut against Scotland, he picked up 5/46 in his 10 overs. He had a good year, emerging as Ireland's top bowler during the World Cup acclimatization tour in Australia and New Zealand.
He was picked to represent Ireland in the 2015 WC as he himself and others believed that he could fill in the boots left vacant by Boyd Rankin. But unfortunately he did not get a single game in the tournament.
