The spearhead of Rajasthan's batting, Robin Bist, is a middle-order batsman who remains a consistent performer at the domestic stage, despite not having got any close towards making it to the Indian national team. Having made his first-class debut in 2007, Bist soon turned out to be the bulwark of Rajasthan's batting line-up as he turned up with handy scores.
Bist played a small part in Rajasthan's 2009-10 Ranji success - their first title triumph in India's premier four-day tournament, making 454 runs at an average of 45.4, but it was in the following season that he really showed his worth, topping the charts with 1034 runs at an average of 86.16, as Rajasthan completed famous back-to-back Ranji triumphs. Bist was the only batsman to cross the 1000-run tally for the season and this performance helped him gain an IPL contract with Delhi Daredevils, ahead of the 2012 season.
He didn't get to play a game before being released at the end of the season. When the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) was banned in 2015, Bist moved to Himachal Pradesh and spent three seasons with Himachal Pradesh before returning to Rajasthan ahead of the 2018 season.
