Biography
The first Papua New Guinea player to score an ODI century, Lega Siaka is an artistic batsman who can also bowl part-time leg spin and at times, useful medium pace depending on the conditions. Hailing from an extremely modest family, Lega along with his brother Heni were part of the PNG U19 World Cup side at one point of time. It’s Lega who made rapid strides in his career, even landing a BBL contract with the Melbourne Renegades during the 2014-15 season. The 2015-17 Intercontinental Cup saw Lega constructing his maiden First-class century which spoke volumes of the adaptive gears that he had in his repertoire. The 2018-19 season was extremely rewarding for Lega who topped the wicket charts during the ICC World Twenty20 Qualifiers and it helped him get a berth for the WCL Division Two tournament in 2019.
