Biography
A rock solid batsman from Delhi, Dhruv Shorey has been a dependable batsman for his State side since his debut in the 2015-16 domestic season. Technically sound in nature, Shorey has often showed the penchant to thrive under pressure. Since his initial days, he has been a very consistent batsman. Although most of his success has come as a batsman in red-ball cricket, Shorey has also had a good time in the shorter formats where he has managed to contribute with both bat and also with his off breaks which have been effective.
The 2017-18 tournament has been Shorey's best as he has shown his versatility across formats. In the Ranji Trophy, he continued to rack up the runs and was pivotal to Delhi's runners-up finish, even compiling a fine ton in the final. He then followed it up with an impressive Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy where he showed the ability to score at a fair clip. The fact that he is a utility package with batting as a stronger suit makes Shorey a good inclusion for the Chennai Super Kings who have invested quite a bit in uncapped players at the 2018 Player Auctions. If he gets the opportunity in the IPL and manages to shine, his career could get fastracked.
