Ryan Higgins who hails from Harare is an all-rounder who made his first-class debut, List A debut and T20 debut for Middlesex. With a first-class best score of 199 and over 100 wickets in the format, Higgins moved from Middlesex to Gloucestershire towards the later stages of 2017 as we wanted to feature across all the formats, and Gloucestershire provided him with the same. An all-rounder in every sense, Higgins played a key role in Gloucestershire's win over Derbyshire in August 2019. He bagged five wickets in the first innings to bundle out Derbyshire for 200 and with the bat Ryan cracked an excellent knock of 101 - batting at number 7. Due to his all-round brilliance, Gloucestershire won the match by 8 wickets.
Due to his splendid average of 68 in first-class cricket in 2019, Gloucestershire extended his contract till the 2023 season. Apart from his excellent batting average, Higgins also took 40 wickets in the first half of 2019. Gloucestershire’s head coach Richard Dawson who regards him highly and was pleased with Higgins' contract extension. Apart from the longest format, Higgins is also a strike bowler in the shortest format, with 5 for 13 against Hampshire been his best figures in T20 cricket.
