Biography
Hailing from Durants Village in Barbados, Javon Searles is a fast-medium bowler from West Indies. Searles hasn’t represented Windies but definitely has the talent to win matches in the shortest format. Also, Kolkata Knight Riders are associated with Searles as he has played for Trinidad & Tobago Red Steel and Trinbago Knight Riders in the Caribbean Premier League. Off the field, Searles is quite a lively character and in one of his recent interviews Searles revealed his passion for cars and loves for chocolates. He bonds well with Sunil Narine as they have played for the same franchise in CPL and as KKR bagged him in IPL auction 2018, it would be interesting to see whether he gets a chance to be a part of the playing XI alongside Narine and Russell.
Like many other cricketers, Searles believes in the art of visualizing everything before the start of a match and he follows the regime before every game. Besides cricket, football is another such sport that the West Indian is passionate about. Apart from his bowling skills, Searles can also contribute to some extent as a lower order batsman, hence his abilities to improvise and play innovative shots make him an exciting player to watch out for. But the presence of foreign talent like Chris Lynn, Andre Russell, Sunil Narine and Mitchell Johnson might make it difficult for Searles to cement a place in the playing XI for KKR.
