Biography

Kerala's Akshay Chandran was reported for suspect bowling action in Ranji Trophy season 2017-18 and he couldn't further participate in the tournament due to this reason. However, Chandran worked on his action and came back ever so strongly with a remodeled bowling action. Chandran was at his peak when he was reported for his bowling action but the slow left-arm orthodox spinner didn't lose hope and made the most out of that break, working hard on his action.

On his return to cricket, Akshay bagged 9 wickets in his first three games which also consisted of a superb spell of (4/29) in 10 overs. As a result of Chandran's match defining spell Kerala managed to thump Odisha by a convincing margin of 6 wickets as they were castled out for 117 runs in the 50-over contest. Apart from his wily bowling, Akshay Chadran has also scored a century in first-class cricket and it shows the potential of this player. On his day, he can win matches single-handedly for his all-round abilities.
