That brings an end to our coverage of the opening match of the Under 19 World Cup 2022. It was a rather one-sided start to the tournament, but this is only the beginning, so there's plenty of action awaiting us in the upcoming days. Let's hope we have some exciting games moving forward. See you tomorrow with the coverage of the India-South Africa U19 World Cup clash. Goodbye and take care!
Cooper Connolly | Australia captain: Pretty happy with his (Teague Wyllie's) knock, pretty impressive to play such a knock at such a young age. We wanted early wickets, that was the key for us, and that's what we did in the first innings. I thought we were pretty good overall, it was a good effort from us, better than the warm up games. We handled the new ball well, as it was a bit tacky upfront.
Ackeem Auguste | West Indies captain: Think we fell 50 runs short in the first innings, we were not able to build partnerships throughout the innings. We wanted to bowl dot balls, and build a lot of pressure. We still believed we could have won the game as we did well to restrict them.
Teague Wyllie: It was pretty difficult at the start. The new ball was always going to be the most difficult period to bat. To be able to get through that and make a decent score feels pretty nice. Felt pretty nervous coming into the tournament, the second youngest in the Aussie squad, but I know if I play my role and my brand of cricket, I can perform at this level. My strength is probably to bat a long period of time. I always pride myself on not giving my wicket away.
15:35 Local Time, 19:35 GMT, 01:05 IST: A comfortable victory for Australia as they have managed to thump the hosts by 6 wickets with 5.1 overs to spare. Apart from the toss, nothing much clicked for the West Indies today. They were reduced to 12/3 early in the day, and although there was a 95-run stand for the fourth wicket, once that partnership was broken, the rest of the West Indian batting order couldn't add anything substantial as they crumbled to 169. Whitney, Radhakrishnan and captain - Connolly were the best of the bowlers as they claimed three wickets each. In reply, Australia got off to a slow start and lost a few wickets upfront, however, Teague Wyllie played a responsible innings and anchored the run chase to take his team home in the 45th over. Australia will be satisfied with this win, and they'd hope to keep winning as they move forward in this tournament. Let's hear it out from the Player of the Match - Teague Wyllie.

Matthew Nandu to Campbell Kellaway, no ball, Australia have won. The batters weren't keen to hit the winning run anytime soon, and Nandu has bowled a no-ball to bring an end to the game himself. Oversteps and what an anti-climatic finish that. Was a floated delivery and Campbell Kellaway clipped it to square leg. Impressive knock by Wyllie who remains unbeaten on 86*(129)
