09:40 Local Time, 03:40 GMT, 09:10 IST: Looks like the rain has eased off and the covers are slowly getting peeled off. We should have a resumption soon. Only a few hessians are in place at the moment, even they'll be removed soon I guess..
09:10 Local Time, 03:10 GMT, 08:40 IST:
08:40 local time | 08:10 IST: After a rollicking opening day where 15 wickets fell, day 2 proved to be a disappointing one as it got washed out due to rain. The spinners had a say on Day 1 and the batters couldn't really do much on a challenging surface. Despite 90 overs lost yesterday, there's still a lot of time remaining to get a result. The weather forecast for the weekend looks much promising, so let's hope we have a lot more action. Mitchell and Phillips need to stitch a partnership in order to keep the visitors alive in this contest, will they be able to do so? We shall find out as the day unfolds. Start of play is not far away, stay tuned.

12:30 Local Time, 06:30 GMT, 12:00 IST: Unfortunately, it's still raining in Mirpur.
11:30 Local Time, 05:30 GMT, 11:00 IST: The first session has been washed out due to rain.
11:00 Local Time, 05:00 GMT, 10:30 IST: Still raining.
10:15 Local Time, 04:15 GMT, 09:45 IST: Nothing positive to update. It's still raining. The wait continues...
09:30 Local Time, 03:30 GMT, 09:00 IST:
09:10 Local Time, 03:10 GMT, 08:40 IST: To make up time for yesterday's overs lost due to bad light, play was supposed to start early today
Day 2: How eventful was the opening day of this Test! Bangladesh were bundled out for 172, while NZ lost 5 wickets in a quick span of time thereafter. The spinners from both the teams had an amazing time bowling on this Dhaka wicket, and with 4 days remaining, a result is definitely on the cards! Bangladesh lost four wickets in Day 1's first session, while Mushfiqur Rahim's unusual (obstructing the field) dismissal resulted in a collapse for the hosts. Miraz and Taijul made sure NZ lost five wickets before stumps and the match is interestingly poised at the moment. The forecast doesn't look promising for Day 2, hence Bangladesh will be the happier side going forward in this match. At least, they don't have to bat last on this wicket which has proved to be a nightmare for the batters so far. What do we have in store for the remainder of this Test? Only time will tell.. Stay around for the start of Day 2, don't go away..
16:17 Local Time, 10:17 GMT, 15:47 IST: That shall be Stumps on Day 1.
16:12 Local Time, 10:12 GMT, 15:42 IST: The umpires have a chat as they think the light conditions are not good enough. The light meter is out as they take a reading and off go to the players.
