So Shadab Khan has poked a hornet's nest here by blaming this defeat on technology. Does he have a genuine gripe or is it a case of grapes being sour? Which side of the fence do you sit on? Either way, nothing can be done to change the outcome of this game because the Quetta Gladiators continue their winning streak, chasing down what was largely an underpar target set by Islamabad United. That's all for today, we'll be back tomorrow. Join us then, bye for now!!
Rilee Rossouw | Player of the Match: We got a W, that's the most important. Not very happy with the way I batted but what's important is we got that win. I thought it was going to be a high scoring game, difficult to read the pitch. The good thing is we assessed the conditions early while bowling and adjusted our batting accordinly. Loving captaincy, bringing the best out of me and very focused and everyone's in a good space. (On what Jason Roy said during team huddle) We spoke that we will play good cricketing shots on this wicket, build a partnership and win the game. This wasn't the easiest of wickets to bat on.
Shadab Khan:I think technology was at fault for this loss. We were shown a different ball as to the review ( the review of Rossouw). I bowled 4 overs as a leg spinner, it wasn't turning much. This one showed impact outside off and spinning away further. In a big tournament like this, there shouldn't be such mistakes. I think we were 10-15 runs short, as batters we need to take more responsibility. All three Shahs (Naseem, Hunain and Ubaid) are talented, very rare to see so much talent in one household. Hunain was brilliant today, he was ideal for this kind of wicket. He got a wicket off his first ball and was good while fielding as well. We have to be a bit more positive, and play a bit more smart cricket with the bat to get wins.
Jason Roy: We bowled very well to keep them to that total. Then, we had to keep it simple. Lost a few wickets but Rilee held the innings well. I'd like to get bigger scores, stay till the end and contribute to wins. I think the pitch was easier with the new ball, but it was dying down as it got older. I think the message from the dressing room has been to have freedom and enjoy ourselves out there in the middle. We have a lovely atmosphere in the camp, Shane Watson is working hard to develop relationships off the field.
22:33 Local Time, 17:33 GMT, 23:03 IST: Quetta Gladiators continue their unbeaten streak for the season, but they made this chase a lot more difficult than it should have been.
