Complete Chepauk Super Gillies won by 9 wkts (7 overs game due to rain)

That's curtains on this game then. Madurai and Nellai will lock horns tomorrow night. Hope the rain gives a window for a game like today. Good night!
Baba Aparajith | CSG captain: We were thinking if the match will not happen because it came so close to the cut-off time but full credit to the groundstaff. It was good we played a 7-over game. The first two overs with the ball set this up for us and toss was also crucial for us. We played to win the game, but after getting a start we decided to finish quickly because it started raining. I know it's a cliche but we got to take it game by game and see where we are.
Abhishek Tanwar | PoTM: i didn't think much. I just tried to bowl to my strengths and conditions helped me. This is my home ground, so it does move a bit with the new ball. I gave away a few runs extra but we had the batting. Those two played so well.
Ravichandran Ashwin | DD captain: 7 overs is lottery game. 85-90 was probably a par score I guess. Anything above 75 could have been better. Nevertheless we will keep marching on. Definitely yes (about middle-order not firing). In T20s it happens when few batters aren't in form. But it's a matter of one innings. I liked the intent the boys showed with the bat but it didn't come off. (On conditions making it difficult for spinners) Ball is getting wet and the pitch is also getting wet and skidding on. It wasn't gripping as much in the second innings. Hopefully we will win the coming games.
