Mir Hamza to Shadman Islam, no run, good length and comes on with the angle only to shape away at the last movement. Shadman covers off and lets it leave, as the ball just grazes his thigh pad on the way to the keeper
The players are out in the middle and we are ready for play. Nice sunny morning for cricket.
Day 3: A sunny Sunday morning in Rawalpindi greets us as we prepare for Day 3 of this fascinating Test match. Bangladesh have done splendidly so far to restrict Pakistan to just 274 on a pretty good batting track, and they played out two nervy overs last evening to keep all their wickets intact. Shadman Islam and Zakir Hasan will look to keep that momentum going this morning, while Pakistan’s pacers will come hard at them today on a track that’s offering a bit more seam and swing. We’re not too far from the first ball, stick around…
17:50 Local Time, 12:50 GMT, 18:20 IST: A nervy couple of overs to contend with for Shadman Islam and Zakir Hasan, but Bangladesh will end the day with all wickets in the bank having bundled out Pakistan for 274. A good day for the visitors who started with Taskin Ahmed knocking over Shafique in the very first over. Pakistan got fifties from Masood and Saim Ayub, but both of them fell shortly after their fifties as Mehidy Hasan Miraz joined the party. Babar was looking good before he was trapped LBW, and Rizwan too fell after getting a start. Salman Agha however batted well with the tail, bringing out a few attacking shots to get his half century. He fell though shortly after, and then Miraz cleaned up Abrar Ahmed to end with a fifer. Had Bangladesh been a bit more clinical with their catching, they could have restricted Pakistan to an even lower total. Nevertheless, they end Day 2 on the ascendency, lets see how the game proceeds from here...
