12:25 Local Time, 02:25 GMT, 07:55 IST: It looks very bright and it does look sunny. There are some clouds around, but they're well away from the Gabba. We must get an official restart update soon
Here's Bumrah, three slips and a gully in place
Brilliant news, play is going to restart on time after lunch. In fact all the players and umpires are already out there
12:10 Local Time, 02:10 GMT, 07:40 IST: Right, the covers have come off and the umpires are out there for what seems to be an inspection. It looks like the rain has stopped as well. We could be starting on time after lunch at 12:40 local (8:10 IST).
12:00 Local Time, 02:00 GMT, 07:30 IST: They've taken an early lunch with conditions not improving at the Gabba. We'll be back at 12:40 pm for hopefully a positive update.
11:15 Local Time, 01:15 GMT, 06:45 IST: Would India have taken a 1-1 scoreline going into the MCG Test when the tour schedule was announced? One would probably say yes - they were never expected to beat Australia in Perth, the pink-ball Test in Adelaide was always going to be a challenge and Brisbane was a final frontier conquered only once in 2021. The 'G' has some happy memories for the tourists, but it has been even more happier for one man in particular. Scott Boland is expected to feature in the Boxing day Test and that'll be a challenge in itself for the visitors. On the other hand, Australia would've expected a lead going into the final two Tests of the summer, but they do know that they've been the better team since Perth. We could well be heading towards a cracking end to what has been an entertaining summer of cricket down under. Back to Brisbane though and it continues to pour
11:05 Local Time, 01:05 GMT, 06:35 IST: It's been an hour since we last saw action and rain continues to pour in Brisbane. Have we see the last of this Test match?
10:40 Local Time, 00:40 GMT, 06:10 IST: Nothing much to write about. It's dark and threatening to get damp at the Gabba. Plenty of anhry clouds overhead and it could burst anytime soon. Curiously enough, today is the last day of this rain band. The next 5 days should be picture perfect conditions in Brisbane. Only if the Test match was starting tomorrow?
10:12 Local Time, 00:12 GMT, 05:42 IST: The Indian players were ready to come out, but they've been asked to go back. There's lightning around at the Gabba and the covers have come out. Could be the first of several more frustrating rain breaks today
Stat: Pat Cummins last four red-ball Tests at the Gabba
