Abbas: Feel very good (on getting 100 Test wickets). Thesis is a totally different pitch, this is much better for batting than Centurion, different challenge and we need to work hard. We need more patience. We have to give credit to the batters. As a batting unit, we need to survive the first half an hour and we can bat long. Hopefully our batters bat long and put pressure on South Africa.
Kyle Verreynne: That was really cool, first one (ton) for me at Newlands, my home ground, so really special. Nice to contribute. It's a really good wicket to bat on, not a lot of seam movement. Ricks batted beautifully, Bavuma got a hundred as well, there was no real pressure there. I could go out there and have fun. Thoroughly enjoyed it. (Centurion vs Cape Town) It's a very different feeling. Supersport is a tough wicket to bat on, the team was under pressure as well. This is a good wicket to bat on and there was no pressure. (What should the bowlers do?) Just control the rates, you'll get punished if you go searching.
Pitch Report | Mike Haysman: Beautiful day, lots of blue skies. The pitch has changed a little bit from yesterday. Pakistan batters nicked off wide deliveries in the first Test - around the sixth-seventh stump channel. That was the case yesterday as well with the left-handers. South Africans are having a good look at a certain area - there are a few cracks around the middle-and-off stump. Some of the cracks have got bigger, but won't be a big issue. There's a little bit of rough for Keshav Maharaj to work with.
Here's Telford Vice, our correspondent from the stadium - "Good morning. Early cloud has given way to another supremely sunny day. The pitch should be at its best for batting today, and the Pakistanis will have had the benefit of a solid night’s sleep after their long stretch in the field. They will need early stability."
