Day 4: Looking back, rain probably aided Sri Lanka in their quest of saving this Test match. They wouldn't really have been thinking about it yesterday having been so far behind in the game but when they take a wider glance at the situation, they'll probably not mind that two sessions were washed out yesterday. Now with just two days left in the game, there might be a glimmer of hope that Sri Lanka will be clinging on to. In any case, their task hasn't changed much. They need to bat and bat long. The deficit is still monumental and pitch is offering loads of turn so Australia still clearly hold the advantage. They have 2 days to pick up 15 wickets and Sri Lanka will have to have played outstandingly well if that doesn't come to pass.

15:10 Local Time, 09:40 GMT, 15:10 IST: Raining heavily at the stadium...
14:49 Local Time, 09:19 GMT, 14:49 IST: Live pictures show that the whole ground is being covered. It's not raining too heavily at the moment but a big downpour looks imminent with dark clouds looming above. Groundstaff not taking any chances.
14:42 Local Time, 09:12 GMT, 14:42 IST: Oops, the covers are coming back on.
