Angelo Mathews - Sometimes I feel like a soldier, sometimes as a policeman, it all comes with maturity, you'll have to take the responsibility. From Day 1, we missed a little bit, didn't get enough runs in the 1st innings and then we leaked a few runs in the field, the 159-run deficit was crucial, I think my wicket was crucial, but on a wicket like this, you can't stay blocking, you need to be positive and score some runs, but we slipped and have only a 54-run lead.
Day 4: It's Day 4 and it's probably the last day of the Test series. As things stand, Sri Lanka are 54 runs ahead and have two second innings wickets in hand. The pitch has played a few tricks, especially when the ball is new and hard, but the hosts do need at least something in the vicinity of 110-120 to mount a challenge. It means that the burden of scoring he runs falls on Kusal Mendis's shoulders - the wicket-keeper batter has been outstanding in this Test, having made 85* in the first innings, but he's once again running out of partners. Australia have been disciplined, but the home team have been too timid. Time is running out fast and the first few overs could well decide the fate of the game.
17:12 Local Time, 11:42 GMT, 17:12 IST: Another excellent day for the Australians and they're on the cusp of winning the series by a 2-0 margin. It didn't start all that well as they lost their last 7 wickets for just 64 runs, but the hundreds from Smith and Carey had meant that they could still take a handy lead, 157 to be exact. Sri Lanka's second innings was a mirror of the first, lots of starts and no one really going on and making that big three-figure score. The openers went cheaply, so did Dinesh Chandimal, but Angelo Mathews held firm. He was briefly supported by Dhananjaya de Silva and later by Kusal Mendis, but it was his ill-advised slog-sweep that opened up the tail as Sri Lanka slipped from 198 for 5 to 211 for 8 at stumps. The lead is only 54 and they'll need a minor miracle if they're to post a challenging 4th innings target. Kusal Mendis has battled hard once again, but he's left with only the tail for company as he seeks to boost this lead. It could be all over quickly tomorrow if the visitors do manage to snag the last wickets cheaply. We'll be back at 10 am local for the first ball of Day 4. For now, cheers and bye..

Kuhnemann to Prabath Jayasuriya, out Caught by Smith!! Well, Smith can't do anything wrong and Australia end the day on a high - he was happy to let them take a single off the last ball, got the number 9 onto strike, brought his premier left-arm spinner into play and Kuhnemann needs just one ball to nip out Prabath Jayasuriya.
