Asitha Fernando to Matthew Short, no run
Matthew Short and Fraser-McGurk are at the crease. Matthew Short is on strike. Asitha Fernando will open the attack
Welcome back. The players are out in the middle. Short and JFM the openers. Asitha has the ball.
Nathan Ellis: Good. Sort of came into the game not knowing what a par score would look like. If you gave us 214 at the start of the day, we would have taken it with both hands. The guys have come from the Big Bash, it is very hot here in Colombo. It is not like this in Hobart. It nipped around in the first 10-odd overs and the wicket got better. Hopefully our batters will do the job for us. I wasn't out there getting a bat, Sean bowled really well and Zampa too bowled a few good balls.
13:45 Local Time, 08:15 GMT, 13:45 IST: Sri Lanka's innings was all about Charith Asalanka. The skipper was on 50* when Ehsan Malinga, the number 10, joined him with the tream in tatters at 135 for 8. How well did he play from that point onwards? kept the strike for most of the over, found the early boundary and kept the scoreboard ticking. The 9th wicket stand was worth 79 and he made 77 of those runs. That innings has meant that the hosts have a score on the board. 214 might not be match-winning, but it'll at least give them some hope. It was otherwise a sorry looking scorecard for the hosts who opted to bat first. They were quickly reduced to 55 for 5 before Aslanka and Wellalage added 67 for the 6th wicket. But they once again slipped from 123 for 5 to 135 for 8, when Asalanka took control. He raced to his 4th ODI hundred and eventually finished with 126-ball 127. Three wickets for Sean Abbott, who was very expensive. Two each for Spencer Johson, Aaron Hardie and Nathan Ellis. Australia might've been disappointed at letting the hosts go past the 200-run mark, but they'll certainly feel that they can chase it down. Back shortly for the reply..

Abbott to Asalanka, out Caught by Fraser-McGurk!! Asalanka's fine innings comes to an end, he yanks his head back in dismay, but this was a magnificent innings from the Sri Lankan captain - a low full-toss from round the wicket, Asalanka got under it on the swipe, but he didn't get the elevation needed on the shot, straight down JFM's throat.
