Afghanistan bow out of the World Cup in typical style, by gifting us all another riveting thriller. A cracking bunch they are, and like their senior batches, we could see many of them make it big in the coming years, that's for sure. Plenty of talent in the Aussie setup too, most notably Radhakrishnan whose all-round skills and ambidexterous bowling qualities make him a sureshot future prospect. Let's hope the kids maximise their talent and shine through. Right then, Australia finish third and Afghanistan equal their best-ever finish of 2018 with fourth spot. We're just one game away in this U19 World Cup but as they say 'last but not the least'. It's the main event tomorrow. England take on India for the coveted trophy, the ultimate prize of the tournament. Hopefully, it will be another cracker to finish the tournament. Do join us for that one. Until next time, it's a goodbye from us.

Cooper Connolly | Australia captain: Feels good. Got a bit nervous there at the end, but otherwise, quite happy. Was a good performance overall. We were challenging with the ball in patches, came back well at the end. He (Radhakrishnan) can bat well, and bowl well, so you can get him to chip in whenever needed. Lots of positives for us. Finishing third is great. We all only met once before this tournament, so to bond well quickly and perform was good.

Sulaiman Safi | Afghanistan captain: It was a very close game. We couldn't finish it off but that's how the game goes. Boys put up a good effort. It's a good sign for us that we're signing off with all the boys in good shape. Great World Cup for all of us, a wonderful experience for all of us.

Nivethan Radhakrishnan | Player of the Match: Great game of cricket. Was great for everyone watching, and all of us involved. Could have chased it down a bit earlier. Was good to get across the line in the end. We've bonded well throughout the tournament and that finish showed what we're made up of. I won't lie, that game against India did leave me a bit low but this morning, I wasn't thinking of winning or losing. It was about what we had achieved as a group. I think we have all represented Australia as best as we could have. I'm still a bit peeved at not getting the job done, but Afghanistan played really well. Cricket Gods smiled on us a bit at the end.

16:30 Local Time, 20:30 GMT, 02:00 IST: There is something about Afghanistan and these middling totals. They simply refuse to budge, and make the opposition fight till the very end. Sri Lanka succumbed. Australia nearly did today. They shouldn't have, given how well Kellaway and Radhakrishnan (promoted to no.3 to tackle spin) had batted for their respective fifties. The duo's stand had put the chase in cruise control but the former's dismissal saw wickets tumble at regular intervals. Australia still had the game very much sealed until Radhakrishnan perished to a soft dismissal, to leave the door slightly open. Afghanistan tried their best to sneak in but in the end, just fell short. Maybe, if they had scored another 20-25 more runs, things would have been different. Or if they hadn't conceded 26 wides, which, in a 200ish chase, was just far too many. Kudos to them though, they'll leave the tournament with heads held high. Their spinners were good today again, even if not as consistent as they'd have liked. As for Australia, they made heavy weather of the chase but will be pleased to be on the winning side.

Nangeyalia kharote to Joshua Garner, 2 runs, Australia grab third place with a thrilling two-wicket win! The field was up on the off-side and Garner threaded the gap at cover with a nice push-drive. No fuss, just leant into the half-volley and stroked it away

We're down to the final over. Australia need two runs, Afghanistan need two wickets. A mini-conference out there among the Afghanistan players.
