Hatcher, Player of the Match: It was nice to get those big guys at the top. It was a nice wicket to bowl on. There was some moisture underneath, so we bowled a few cross seams and it got a little bit of nibble. It's a lot easier on the body as compared to Shield cricket where you got to bowl around 20 overs in a day. One down, four to go. Hopefully we can win the reverse derby.

22:02 Local Time, 11:02 GMT, 16:32 IST: Melbourne Stars have registered a clinical win against the Adelaide Strikers, here at the MCG! They are not placed last in the points table anymore due to this victory. Earlier in the day, Matthew Short got the Strikers off to a fantastic start as he scored 20 runs in the first over of the match. However, the Stars pulled things back drastically after the first over. They kept taking wickets at regular intervals, never let the opposition off the hook as the Strikers were restricted to a mediocre total of 108. This kind of target was never going to challenge the hosts and the openers made sure they didn't allow the Strikers bounce back in the game. Joe Clarke was run-out by Gibson in the 10th over, but the damage was already done by then. In the end, the Stars got home comfortably by 9 wickets and 33 balls to spare.
